A delightful c1850 Mahogany boxed spelling alphabet with sliding lid and dividers for doubled sided bone tiles (Bovine) Capital on one side lower case on the reverse. These spelling tiles were used as a game/teaching aid for children. There are 143 tiles in total, multiples of each letter in the alphabet approximately 18mm in height plus three blanks.
