A wonderfully decorative hand painted Toleware jug depiciting river scenes and floral patterns. Dating from the early part of the 20th century these type of painted tin wares are often associated with narrowboats and folk who worked on and navigated the rivers. These folk would decorate their everyday objects (buckets, churns, tin trunks etc) with this distinctive folk art style.
Condition commensurate with age and use.
