Vintage charity collection box

A most interesting and delightful vintage charity box dated from 1928, text on the box reads "Joint Pence Collection for the Royal commercial travellers schools and commercial travellers benevolent institution". The side door reads "Please forward remittances to N.Lee-Smith Secretary. Joint Pence committee 4B Fredericks place, London E.C.2." This collection box is made in Mahogany with gilt lettering.

This piece has retained much of its original finish and is in good solid condition, wear consistent with age and use . There is a brass lock present on the side door but no key.
