Beautifully carved Oak Bible or Deed box dating to the first half of the 18th century. The lid of the box is carved with flower heads and scrolls whilst the sides are clevery carved with inter woven loaves and fishes. All this sits on a raised plinth. A period correct lock is present with a later modified key and works as it should.
Condition commensurate with age and use. Hairline crack on the lid which is stable and does not detract from its overall appearance.
