Excellent large 19th Century Bronze engraved sundail plate with epigram inscriptionand elegant gnomon. Roman numerals on the outer ring, acanthus leaf decoration in the corners, inner chapter ring compass points and compass rose to the centre. The epigram/verse reads as follows:

'Serene I stand among the flowers and only count the sunny hours for me the dark days do not exist i'm a brazen faced old optomist'

Below the epigram latin script TEMPUS FUGIT: (Time flies/Time runs away)
