An interesting Early 19th Century c1810 English School idyllic landscape with river, hills and fisherman. Intialled verso I.R the interesting part on the reverse is a scratch carved daisy wheel, hexafoil or witches wheel. It's likely to assume that this painting was hung above a threshold to ward off evil spririts and bad luck. A charming painting and conversation piece.
Condition commensurate with age and use.
