A c1850 Satinwood marquetry Lap desk. The slope has a trailing foliate border and central oval also surrounded with a foliate border. To the side is a fitted drawer for inkwells and pens with lock and brass drawer pull. These lap desks were designed to be light portable as oppossed to its writing slope cousin
Condition commensurate with age and use. Some losses and cracks as you would expect from a portable item.
