A beautiful French oak coffer with great grain, warmth of colour and original patina. It has great character and retains its rustic charm. A wonderful two plank top, original knocks and losses, signs of old woodworm holes.... all long gone but they add to the authentic look of the chest. Last but not least a wrought iron key hole escuthcheon with flaming heart decoration. A lovely period rustic storage solution.
Condition commensurate with add and use. An old repair to the underneath of the lid
Provenance: ruptedly owned by a Senior employee of The Irish Times and purchased as part of a farmhouse sale in rural France
